Lindsey-Flanigan Courthouse

The LEED Gold Certified Lindsey-Flanigan Courthouse is a five-story structure providing functions for state and criminal courts as well as its juvenile courts. The design philosophy of the building was to create an open dialogue with the urban context and to create a transparency of justice. This was achieved by opening the entire east-facing façade to the public plaza with a folded plane glass curtain wall to connect the building users physically and visually onto the plaza. The building sits prominently on axis with the Colorado State Capitol as well as the United States Mint and also integrates itself into the skewed geometry of Downtown Denver by addressing the diagonal axis to the Historic Trinity Church located several blocks away.
